Interesting read over about the pooling of car hire services in the US. Instead of individual rental and car hire USA companies running seperate buses to and from the airport and each hire company having its own car parking areas. Cleveland and San Francisco both opened consolidated rental car facilities in 1998 and since then they have opened in many other major airports in the USA . More are planned, such as pooled car hire Orlando, rental firms in Miami, San Jose, Memphis and deeper south in New Orleans

Why spend lots and lots of money on entertainment in Abu Dhabi? You can enjoy plenty in the shiney new city of Abu Dhabi - there are lots of free things to do in Abu Dhabi

I tell you what I'm up for - a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas - that looks like the most fun ever. It's got 4 swimming pools - that's more than my home city!! And a golf course... outdoor climbing wall... a park... I just laugh myself silly whenever I see the size of it. Honestly, check out the pics and tell me you don't find it impressive :)

How about Christmas shopping in New York - leave yourself at least a couple of dedicated shopping days to fight the crowds.

Can anyone recommend any special Christmas markets. It looks as though in Europe Christmas markets are very popular - a perfect mix of local products, food and drinks with more commercial stalls selling gifts and toys

I love travel - it broadens the mind... and the waistline! Seriously though, whenever and wherever you travel, make sure you sample the local food. It's a great way to find out something about the culture of the place you're staying. If you're ever in Toronto, there's a great restaurant overlooking the harbour - right in the corner of the beach (although I've forgotten the name). Best seafood ever :)

Hi Tony Haven't decided whether to stay in this country or go abroad yet. Mum and Dad have got one of those fantastic cruise deals and they'll be swanning around the Med over Christmas and the New Year which they are very excited about - I'm not sure that Christmas in the sun would be the same though.....The other option would be to stay in the this country but go away for two or three days. I think they are called Turkey and Tinsel trips which sounds a bit old fashioned but I really fancy the idea of Christmas in a luxury hotel with someone doing all the cooking for me LOL What about you? Have you got any plans?

I have oppted to stay in the UK and travel around lake distrect area and visit loads of places near there. I would suggest that if you are coming to the uk is to opt to visit the lake district. I rented a car from Season Car Hire London. I was tempted to rent a range rover but I got my self a nice desial estate, which done me fine.

Well I was planning on going to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and staying at the new Yas Hotel but now Jenson Button has finally taken enough points to claim the world F1 title I might check out Dubai. Fights to Dubai seem to go to Abu Dhabi Airport - great Duty Free shopping I'm told

Hi Tony/Dave - I might be travelling out to Israel myself later this year... do you know what the visa requirements are like for an extended trip out there? I'm hoping they might be a bit simpler than the US visa rules!! Cheers P

This blog suggest a shortage of hire cars in Europe this summer! Think about booking in advance online to secure car hire for your holiday - especially in popular locations in Spain and across Europe - and dont forget to check the web for discount codes to save money - check out these car hire voucher codes for easyCar - some good savings are still available on car rental in Europe this summer.

I'm aware of the car hire shortage - just an excuse to hike up prices I'd say

Stay at home and do a rideout. South West England has some great biking roads and excellent camping.

Looking for a hot destination? If you are looking to go to the final F1 meeting of 2009 - the Ethihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - check if the Yas marina resort hotel you are thinking of booking has actaully been completed! The Yas Circuit is only 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Arrange your flights to Abu Dhabi with the national airline of the UAE - Ethihad Airways - who are the primary sponsors of the inaugural Grand Prix to be held in Abu Dhabi. The race will start during daylight and run into the night - sounds like a must go event for any motor sport fans.
