St. Augustine Beach Sunrise

A few weeks ago my family and I went on a family vacation to St. Augustine, Florida the oldest city in the nation. St. Augustine is my home away from home, so it was great to be able to share it with my husband and the kids. We stayed at the Super 8 in St. Augustine Beach, and it was a very positive experience.

Every morning I would take the kids to the beach across from our hotel, and the sunrise was gorgeous. We would spend a couple of hours by the beach, before we would return to our hotel room to get breakfast and go sightseeing.

The water on St. Augustine Beach was extremely calm, but it was also a bit chilly for our South Florida standards.

Those are very pretty pictures. This year I didn't take a summer vacation, hopefully next year.

Very, very pretty. I don't usually take summer vacations. In the winter, during our Christmas break, I usually go somewhere warm for a week or so. Been to S.C., Texas, and Florida several times. This winter I will probably either go back to Fort Myers, Florida or to Corpus Christie, Texas.

Lera, we went to Fort Myers last summer with my brothers and their families from Europe. It is beautiful over there that's for sure.

Those are great pictures. We went to Florida for two weeks in March, and visited Tampa and Orlando. Then last month Elliott and I went to my parents' house without my husband. We're looking at ideas now for our vacation next summer! :) I would say we will stay closer (It was about 4400 miles round trip to Florida, and we drove it) to home next summer, but I'm hoping "home" is somewhere else, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, how pretty.

I didn't really get a 'vacation' this year. Angela and I had to go to Orlando for dance Nationals. We didn't have the time (or money) to visit any of the parks, and we basically spent all our time at the hotel for dance.

Jax, we went to visit my sister-in-law in Orlando for an hour, but we did not do anything else in Orlando. Maybe next year:)

Very pretty. I went with my parents when I was 5 but don't remember it. The kids have all been there on field trips but one of these days we'll try to go together. Haven't had this year's vacation yet -- we're going in a few months.

Love it! And I wish the photo uploader on here would work so that I could show off our vacay pics. We did make it to St. Augustine, but only for the one day because of our Orlando detour that ended up lasting 3 days. We stayed at Pirate Haus (think thats how its spelled).

Looks so inviting there. We haven't gone anywhere yet, but where we live it's beautiful and we have a beach, too. I have a lovely Ostrich beach chair on my deck and have been spending some relaxing time there. Still, I hope we can get away a bit.

Very lovely photos! We've been to Florida about 10 different times, all when our son was little/growing up......but have never been to St. Augustine before.......now that hubby's "officially" retired, we've got tons of time (well supposedly, but its definitely NOT working out that way.....we're busier than ever...even when we were working!).....I'm going to be getting a new/newer car very soon so, hopefully, after that, we can start planning a vacation, or maybe cruise. I'd love to go to Europe eventually!

You would love St Aug, Nora, oldest city in the US, so lots of history. Beautiful buildings, museums, art galleries, an old Fort, gorgeous beaches! I love it there.

I love St Augustine, go every summer or early Fall. I'm supposed to go to Jacksonville this weekend and we are going to drive to St Aug just for a day. We love to eat at the Columbia's restaurant in downtown, off St George St. Oh they have the best Cuban sandwiches. Love the beach there. Your photos are fabulous!

We just returned from York Harbor, Maine. I just love a good beach vacation - so relaxing and recharging for the soul. Talk about cold water - York Beach was icy!
