Best Kept Secrets of Beach Getaways

(Above photo taken on our summer vacation in 2008 - Oregon Coast)
I remember as a child going on summer vacation to the Oregon Coast every year with my parents, sister and brother. My first ocean visit was to the Oregon Coast, I was almost 5 years old. I remember as we drove for hours, asking over and over again if we were almost there. That drive that seemed to take forever was all but forgotten when I got my first glimpse of the ocean. It was so big and so beautiful, I was amazed and excited. Jumping out of the car and running towards the water, bare feet and wind in my hair. The sound of the waves and the seagulls.
Those are memories that will always be a part of my heart, so many wonderful memories. As a parent, I have had the pleasure of experiencing the same thing with my husband and children on several seperate occasions. Making lifelong memories that will be cherished forever.
The wind in my hair, the sand between my toes. A feeling of pure bliss. Nothing could be better during that moment. The ocean has a way of carrying all of my worries, stress and sadness out to sea.
The rolling waves are BIG and my troubles are small. The sound of the waves is so soothing, it's a mind and body massage. I wish every single day could be so peaceful. The waves and seagulls are like a soothing lullaby. Ever so gentle, ever so soothing.
The smell of the ocean is so unique, it's one of a kind, just like the ocean itself. The smell, the sound, the view... all of these seem to make everything else just fade into the distance. The feel of the warm sand between my toes as I walk across the beach. It's a feeling of pure and total bliss, so relaxing, peaceful and calming.
The sound of the kids laughing, giggling and screaming as a big wave sneaks up on them and gets them all wet. They start running and fall into the sand, wet and sandy, life is perfect. Life seems to stand still, no worries, just pure happiness.
Lincoln City, Oregon is one of our favorite ocean beaches. The beach is beautiful and very easily accessible. We love it because it's clean, convenient and not overcrowded. There are fun places to shop, great places to stay and one of the best restaurants around, Mo's! Whether you want to play in the ocean, explore the tide pools, go for a walk on the beach, fly a kite, watch the surfers or just sit and enjoy the view... it's perfect! Lincoln City, Oregon is nestled between 7 miles of beautiful sandy beaches and a 680 acre lake on the central Oregon coast!
For now, our master bedroom is my ocean getaway at home, beautiful ocean photos, seashells in vases and a soft sea green paint, curtains and bedding. I have always loved the ocean, one day I will own a house on the beach. But for now my bedroom will be my secret little ocean beach escape.
"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore."

I have been to the ocean a few times. It is amazing to me.
We used to skip school and head to Florence lol!! Lived there at Canon Beach for a time.... My mother is in Florence almost every weekend. They should just buy a place there, but she still works in Eugene at 70 something years old.
We used to go to the beach just because, like you there is something about the vast ocean that makes day to day stresses just go away. Remember when the Oregon state employees blew up the whale?? LMBO!! That story will never die lmbo!! I have a real smart sibling who got her car stuck out at high tide in Florence lmbo!! So ya good memories lol!!
