The Boston Fire Department has a fire that raged quickly through much of Boston's Back Bay Fens under control now. This was a brush fire that spread quickly through the dry, tall reed that grow out of the soggy marsh below.
The main locales of this fire were by the Boylston Street bridge (where it crosses the Muddy River) and in the brush/reeds near (ironically) a local Fire Department facility and Agazziz Drive.
I first noticed the brown smoke in the sky when I was pedaling my bike down Newbury Street. I figured it would be some building in the west Back Bay or in the Fenway, but I soon saw that my beloved neighborhood park was ablaze! I felt like I was in LA or something.
Please check out my photos of the damage below. It was pretty exciting!
