Last year I visited Barcelona (Spain) and simply loved it. . . Where to start? Well, there is too much to share about Barcelona, but I have chosen a few photos- a few cliff notes of the highlights.
THE VESPAS- HIP, ECO-FRIENDLY, AND SIMPLY EVERYWHERE

One could se Vespas parked and in action all throughout the City. The are the preferred transportation method. I even saw a pink one, but did not have my camera handy.
I have seen a few around here in California, but mostly in the beach communities.
Another popular transportation vehicle- the good old bicycle.
And last, but not lest- the Flintstone mobile- Barcelona is a very walkable city.
THE MARKET- COLORFUL, VIBRANT, & FULL OF GOODIES!
I found the market on our last day. It had it all- fruits, veggies, meats, fish, candy, cheeses, and so much more. I was on overdrive mode- I did not know where to look first. . . it was all so stimulating

The Veggie Stand- not a bad way to get your vitamins!

The Fruits Stand- yum! I have to admit I don't know what many of these fruits are, but they do look good.
CASA BATLLO- ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARCHITECTURAL SITES
I did not know much, if anything, about Gaudi (the architect) before I visited Barcelona, but now, I am a fan. This house is certainly not considered his biggest masterpiece, but is my personal favorite.

Nature was Gaudi's inspiration. Nature does not believe in straight lines and angles. Neither did Gaudi.
Can you see the dragon on top?

If you could not see it before, you should be able to see it now. This is the dragon on top of Casa Batllo.
What a great idea! Wouldn't you want to have a dragon guarding your home?

And here is the interior of Casa Batllo. In true Gaudi style- there are no straight lines or angles. The inspiration - the waves of the ocean. . .
PAELLA- THE MOST FAMOUS DISH IN BARCELONA, SPAIN

Don't miss it! Even if you don't eat fish- try it. They can cook it with chicken or pork if you happen to not eat Nemo and friends.
THE CHOCOLATE STORE - NOT NECESSARY A BIG ATTRACTION, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU HAVE A SWEET TOOTH LIKE I DO

Look at the Chocolate Towers- who can resist this? I sure could not.

And as soon as I spotted the massive chocolate structure- I could not resist its calling. . .
DALI'S MUSEUM (OUTSIDE OF BARCELONA)

Well, if you have made it all the way to Barcelona, you might as well make the extra trip to visit Dali's museum- the crazed mind of a genius. Even if Dali is not your cup of tea- just go-it is quite the experience.

I can't remember what Dali called this room. I call it the Scary Female Room. Who needs a kiss? Just buy yourself a couch in the form of a gigantic mouth. . . Hopefully, you will still be there in the morning -

Lincoln as seen by Dali! Hey, I had to search for non-R rated material from my photos of the Dali museum. Most of his art is- let's say provocative and mature (mildly put).
On that note, I hope you enjoyed this brief tour of Barcelona! If you have an opportunity to go and visit it- please do. And don't forget to treat yourself with a glass of cava sangria! Their cava (sparkling wine) is outstanding.
