Tillamook Air Museum - Journey back in time to World War II

Every summer vacation, we make a stop (or two) in Tillamook, Oregon.  First for the Tillamook Cheese Factory and the other for the Tillamook Air Museum that houses World War II aircraft and memorabilia.

The kids always have a blast exploring the several aircrafts that are actually "hands on" throughout the Tillamook Air Museum.  (I've posted a few photos of them)  It's also very education and interesting. 

We spend atleast an hour here each and everytime we stop.  They also have a movie you can watch, a 50's style cafe and of course a gift shop!

Tillamook Air Museum is an aviation museum located south of Tillamook, Oregon at the Tillamook Airport . The museum is housed in a former military blimp hangar, called "Hangar B", which is the largest clear-span wooden structure in the world.  Tillamook Air Museum has been described as one of the country's top private World War II aircraft collections.

I love visiting places like this.
Looks like fun! We have an air museum with old WWII planes near us-we love it, too!

Great photos! I know exactly where Tillamook is, as a lot of my cousins live out around there....Corvallis, Garibaldi, and some used to live in Tillamook, growing up! Have you heard of Garibaldi? Well, last summer the cousins on my dad's side of the family had a reunion out there in July.....I usually always go to the reunions but couldn't last year cause we'd just had two deaths in the family.......I was so disappointed, as my cousin, Gerald, who hosted the reunion, lives right on the ocean!!!!! Very beautiful country out there!!!

I have heard of Garibaldi and have been there several times. We love the Oregon coast!
