It's time to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peace and beauty that nature has to offer. More than 5,000 years ago, the Native Americans were the first to settle this nature destination. During the 1800s, lots of settlers came in to fish, farm, build ships, and lumber. Do you enjoy the forests? Maybe the mountains? Or how about the ocean? All are here in this park. It has been a vacation spot for the Rockefellers, Fords, and Vanderbilts. In the twentieth century, much of this destination was burned in forest fire.
What state am I in and what location am I referring to there?

About the Travel Guru: I invite you to join me on an adventure as I make my way around the country. If you can guess where I am, you could win up to 125 Gather Points and the chance to receive a $100 AMEX gift card towards your own travels.
Here's how it works: Throughout the week, I'll create five posts that give you clues as to where I am. I travel fairly quickly, so be sure to connect to me to keep up! For each post, I'll choose one Gather member who correctly guesses where I am that day to receive 100 Gather Points. The first person to guess the correct answer will automatically receive 25 Gather Points and will also be eligible for the 100 Gather Points. Of course, it is Acadia National Park in Maine, a beautiful spot. I visited there as a child, and the memories are as fresh today as back then.
Congrats Marianne.

Enjoy because Maine is a beautiful state!
I've never been, but have read about it.
Not too shabby yourself Trish A. You were drawn for the 100 Gather Points.
