A couple of weekends ago we went to Jacksonville, FL to pick up a pop-up camper that we found on Craigslist. We decided that since it is a 5 hour trip (even longer with a baby), we would plan on using the camper once we got there to stay at Little Talbot State Park. Although we weren't very impressed with the city of Jacksonville, the park itself was wonderful.

On the side of the park where the campgrounds are located it is full of Oak trees covered in Spanish Moss.

Here is a shot of Little Miss and I in front of the camper we bought. It is fairly old, but we got a great price on it and it came with a new AC! It rained all weekend, so we already know there aren't any leaks, plus it tows great behind the Honda Element!

Across the street is the ocean side of the park. We went to the far end of the park, and didn't see any other people until we were about to leave. This is very different from where we live, where private beach spots are extremely hard to come by, even when the weather is iffy!

These were the only other creatures enjoying the beach that day....
I hope you enjoyed our trip!

This will open up a ton of new experiences! GA has great state parks, and I've already found some state parks near New Orleans! Since the camper is small and light it doesn't add much to the gas mileage either - we get about 21 mpg with it.
YOu'll build great family memories.
